Protective Cover Adapter (Carnie Caps)

Deslauriers' Protective Cover Adapter is the perfect solution for protecting workers from impalement on exposed rebar. As required by OSHA's 1926.701(b) standard, all protruding reinforcing steel must be guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement. Our Protective Cover Adapter is designed to cover in-line exposed rebar and only requires two units for every 8 feet of coverage (2 units per 4 feet in California). The Cover Cap holds two 2x4's or 2x6's suspended above a line of rebar, eliminating the need to cap each rebar. The cap can also be used on a single rebar to provide protection. Our Protective Cover Adapter is steel reinforced and conforms to State and Federal safety regulations. The PCA snaps on to our DISC-10, DISC-10F, or HH-M protective covers to create a saddle into which double 2x4’s or 2x6’s are secured to create a system to protect a row of in-line rebars (for Rebar #3-#11 or Rebar #3-#12). The Protective Cover Adapter can be purchased separately or as a system with our DISC-10 or HH-M impalement safety covers.
